12 months contract, possible extension
Must have at least Baseline Clearance
The Business Analyst (BA) operating at SFIA Level 4 is responsible for investigating business situations, identifying and evaluating options for improving business systems, and defining requirements for effective use of information systems. BA works independently with stakeholders, contributes to process improvement initiatives, and supports the delivery of digital services aligned with departmental goals. Everyone is also expected to actively assist with ticket management. This includes triaging, following up, and contributing to resolution efforts—regardless of role. Supporting ticket workflows ensures we maintain service quality, share the load, and keep things moving efficiently across the team.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and gather requirements.
• Analyse business processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Document functional and non-functional requirements for digital solutions.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit and validate requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of process maps and SOPs.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business expectations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Digital Service Engagement Team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of analysis activities.
• Provide input into project planning and prioritisation based on business value.
Essential criteria
1. Experience in business analysis within a digital or ICT environment.
2. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
3. Proficiency in process mapping tools and techniques.
4. Ability to document clear and concise business requirements.
5. Familiarity with government service delivery and reporting frameworks.
6. Understanding of Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience facilitating requirement gathering with stakeholders.
2. Be comfortable dealing with uncertainty and shifting priorities.
