About the Role:
Our Utilities client is seeking a Boomi Integration Architect.
This is a long‑term contract role for 12 months with a possible 3‑month extension, located at our client’s Canberra office with hybrid working arrangements (on‑site attendance required for key milestones and governance activities).
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Design and oversee the Boomi platform architecture, including runtime deployment models and AWS‑hosted environments.
- Define integration patterns, data models, and enterprise architectural standards to support scalable integration delivery.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks (naming, versioning, branching, deployment, documentation).
- Ensure platform security, compliance, audit, logging, and data‑residency alignment with cybersecurity requirements.
- Provide solution architecture oversight across integration initiatives.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to shape requirements and ensure high‑quality delivery.
- Lead operational readiness activities including monitoring, alerting, performance optimisation, runbooks, and upgrade management.
- Present architecture decisions to governance forums and technical stakeholders.
- Mentor internal teams, uplift integration capabilities, and support transition to BAU operations.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Extensive experience architecting solutions using the Boomi integration platform.
- Strong hands‑on experience deploying and operating Boomi within AWS environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Boomi runtime models (Atom, Molecule, Atom Cloud).
- Strong understanding of integration patterns: API‑led, event‑driven, batch, database, file‑based.
- Proficiency with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, XSLT, and complex data transformations.
- Experience with AWS services: EC2, VPC, Subnets, IAM, Security Groups, ALB/NLB, Secrets Manager, Certificate Manager, CloudWatch.
- Experience establishing integration governance, standards, and reusable patterns.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across integration, cloud, and networking layers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including high‑quality technical documentation.
- Qualifications:
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Boomi certifications (Architect, Professional Developer, Administrator) highly regarded.
- AWS, TOGAF, or ITIL certifications beneficial.
It is desirable if you have:
- Experience within large, complex enterprise environments.
- Prior experience in utilities or government organisations.
