About the company:
We’re partnering with a well-established enterprise organisation focused on strengthening operational efficiency, consistency and security through modern automation practices. You’ll join a collaborative technology environment working alongside Infrastructure, Cloud and Security teams to deliver scalable, reusable automation that reduces manual effort and supports compliance uplift across the estate.
The role:
This role will require a specialist with deep, hands-on experience in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to design, develop, and maintain scalable automation solutions across Linux (RHEL), Windows Server, databases and other enterprise systems. You’ll help build robust automation frameworks that reduce manual effort and improve consistency and compliance across environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automation solutions using Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories, variables, best practices)
- Configure and administer AAP / Automation Controller (job templates, workflows, credentials, RBAC)
- Manage inventories and execution environments
- Promote and manage automation across dev/test/prod
- Automate operational activities: provisioning, configuration management, patching, and compliance enforcement
- Support security automation initiatives, including vulnerability remediation and uplift programs
- Produce clear documentation and reusable automation assets
- Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud and Security teams to deliver maintainable, scalable outcomes
- Strong commercial experience with Ansible automation (playbook/role development, inventory design, variable strategy)
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) / Automation Controller
- Strong experience automating RHEL environments (majority Linux estates)
- Experience integrating Ansible automation with Windows systems where required
- Strong scripting/automation fundamentals and ability to work autonomously
Desirable experience:
- Security automation experience (hardening, remediation workflows, compliance uplift)
- Experience automating database or enterprise platform tasks (where applicable)
- Strong documentation practices / reusable framework design
