  • Design, develop, and support secure Acurity applications using SQL in an Agile environment with a focus on quality, security, and performance
Key responsibilities

  • Plan: Contribute to estimations & schedule planning for upcoming work.
  • Design and Develop: Design, develop and maintain software based on UniSuper’s requirements.
  • Code Review: Review, test, and debug code for accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.
  • Collaborate with team members: Collaborate with other developers, designers, and project managers to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget. Ensure your code is regularly checked in, merged, and deployed.
  • Create Documentation: Prepare and maintain software documentation, including specifications, user manuals, and training materials.
  • Update and improve: Continuously update and improve our software to reflect changes in technology and the needs of our business as they evolve.
  • Troubleshoot: Identify and fix software defects and compatibility issues.
  • Review: Participate in code review processes and other QA initiatives to help ensure the code we deliver is of a high quality.
  • Test: Unit test software to ensure it meets functional and performance requirements, and that the results are appropriately documented.
  • Be a champion for Security: Ensure that our software is secure and protected against potential threats and
  • Support: Provide support to end-users, troubleshoot, resolve issues, and implement changes as needed.
  • Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to improve development processes and techniques.
 
Experience, capability, and qualifications
  • A passion for technology and the way it can influence outcomes
  • Experience in Acurity application development, including use of Acurity Architect to implement customisations to the core product (or experience in 4GL programming languages with a willingness to learn Acurity application development, preferably with a background in Superannuation).
  • Experience with databases and SQL.
  • Experience in development patterns.
  • End to end IT applications SDLC experience, using Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to analyse and design new application components based on requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders to ensure a common understanding of issues, requirements, and outcomes.
  • Commitment to quality and efficiency.
  • Relevant experience in a software development environment and/or the superannuation industry is preferred.
