AB Initio Developer 12-Month Initial Contract | Sydney, NSW | Hybrid Working Arrangement 
We are currently seeking an experienced AB Initio Developer to join a high-performing delivery team supporting a major client based in New South Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong data engineering professional with deep AB Initio expertise to contribute to large-scale enterprise integration and transformation initiatives.
You will work within a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality, scalable, and reliable data solutions across modern cloud and enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support robust ETL and data integration solutions using AB Initio
  • Build and maintain batch and continuous data processing flows
  • Perform technical analysis, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions
  • Contribute to CI/CD processes and deployment activities
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members
  • Support Level 3 production incidents and complex technical investigations
  • Participate in estimation, solution design, testing, and release activities
  • Promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes
Required Experience & Skills
  • 8–12 years of strong hands-on experience with AB Initio products and shell scripting
  • Solid background in data engineering and ETL development principles
  • Strong Unix/Linux experience
  • Experience working with Oracle or other RDBMS platforms using SQL
  • Exposure to AWS Cloud environments
  • Integration experience with MQs, REST APIs, and Kafka
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and deployment pipelines including Jenkins, TeamCity, and AB Initio EME
  • Programming exposure in Python and/or Java
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Highly Regarded
  • Experience across both batch and continuous processing frameworks
  • Previous experience working within enterprise-scale or government environments
  • Baseline Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one
