Windows SOE & Endpoint Management Engineer — Federal Government
URGENT 3-Month Contract (possible extension) · $800–$900/day inc. super

Join a leading IT services organisation to design, build and run secure, scalable, and compliant endpoint environments for a Federal Government client.
Key responsibilities
• SOE design & upkeep:
Build and maintain standard Windows SOE images aligned to ISM / Essential Eight / ISO 27001.
• App packaging & deployment:
Package (MSIX/Win32), test and deploy via Intune (and/or Endpoint Configuration Manager/MECM).
• Intune/Endpoint management:
Policies, compliance, Conditional Access, baselines, Autopilot, app and update rings.
• Lifecycle & patching:
Provisioning, configuration, monthly patching, and Windows version upgrades with minimal disruption.
• Security controls:
BitLocker, Defender policies, hardening and secure baselines mapped to public-sector standards.
• Automation:
PowerShell (and related tooling) to automate builds, config, and remediation.
• Troubleshooting:
L3 escalation for SOE, application, and deployment issues; clear runbooks/docs.
• Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams; support non-Windows endpoints where required.
Skills & experience
• 5+ years
in Windows Endpoint Management/SOE engineering.
• Proven SOE build, application packaging,
and Intune(deploying builds) experience; MECM/SCCM a plus.
• Strong PowerShell, GPO/baselines, Defender, BitLocker; public-sector compliance exposure (ISM/E8/ISO).
• Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation.
Clearance
• Australian Citizen with active NV1 (or higher) security clearance is mandatory.
