About the Role: Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Web Application Developer. This is a long-term 12 months contract role, with two 12-month extension options, located at our client’s offices in Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, or Sydney, with hybrid working arrangements.
As the selected candidate, you will:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust web applications using modern frameworks and technologies
• Build secure, fault-tolerant, scalable, high-performing, and cost-optimised web applications
• Develop front-end and back-end components and integrate with backend API endpoints
• Apply secure coding practices and ensure compliance with government security and authentication standards
• Work with AWS cloud services and containerised workloads deployed into Kubernetes clusters
• Collaborate closely within an Agile Scrum team, contributing to code reviews, documentation, and sprint ceremonies
• Work with UX designers and business analysts to deliver accessible and user-focused applications
• Identify technical issues and propose solutions within established organisational parameters
• Share technical knowledge and mentor team members
• Apply cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and DevOps principles across the delivery lifecycle
To be successful in this role, you should have:
• 5+ years’ experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Strong experience with .NET, React, Node.js, APIs
• Experience containerising and deploying applications into Kubernetes
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud technologies
• Strong understanding of web application security
• Experience working in large organisations or large cloud deployments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to translate feedback into actionable outcomes
• Ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with stakeholders
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Open mindset and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
It is desirable if you have:
• Experience building web interfaces for Generative AI applications
• Experience influencing best practice adoption within technical teams
Security Requirements Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
