About the Role: Our Federal Government Client is seeking a UX/UI Designer (APS6 Equivalent). This is a long-term contract role for 12 months with a possible 12-month extension (1 x 12-month extension), located at our client’s Canberra (ACT) office, with hybrid working arrangements.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product and business owners.
- Conduct engagement activities with participants, providers, and business stakeholders to co-design requirements and project outcomes.
- Illustrate concepts using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
- Design wireframes and prototypes in both low and high fidelity for web and mobile platforms.
- Conduct user research including usability testing.
- Capture and analyse data-related requirements in collaboration with business analysts.
- Achieve agreement and formal sign-off of requirements with stakeholders.
- Contribute to project documentation including process maps, service design artefacts, and requirements specs.
- Assist in the design and implementation of the organization's design system.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend enhancements.
- Maintain documentation to support knowledge transfer and ongoing improvements.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Proven experience eliciting UI/UX requirements using techniques like brainstorming, workshops, prototyping, observation, or interviews.
- Contemporary knowledge of UI/UX methodologies with experience designing to meet WCAG accessibility guidelines.
- Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and present ideas clearly to senior stakeholders.
- A strong interest in accessible design and development, and enthusiasm for inclusive design practices.
It is desirable if you have:
- Experience designing for Salesforce platforms.
- Previous experience working with accessibility requirements.
- A forward-thinking approach to accessibility and a passion for innovative, inclusive design.
