Peoplebank is seeking a talented UI/UX Developer to join a growing, forward-thinking technology team based in North Sydney. This role offers the opportunity to design and develop modern, responsive, and visually engaging user interfaces that directly enhance the customer experience across a suite of digital products.
You’ll work across the full UI/UX lifecycle — from user research and wireframing through to front-end development and component delivery — using React and Material UI to create sleek, performant, and scalable applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement user interfaces that are intuitive, responsive, and aligned with modern UX best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver seamless, user-focused solutions.
- Conduct user research, create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Upgrade and modernise existing applications to the latest versions of React and Material UI.
- Ensure accessibility, consistency, and performance across browsers and devices.
- Contribute to the design system and component library to drive reusability and maintainability.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve delivery milestones.
- 3–5 years of experience in UI/UX design and front-end development.
- Strong hands-on expertise with React.js, JavaScript, and Material UI.
- Experience upgrading or migrating legacy UI applications.
- Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with UX research, usability testing, and design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Exposure to TypeScript, Redux, RESTful APIs, and Git-based workflows.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
