Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Systems Administrator.
This is a 3 months contract
with no extensions, located at our client’s ACT office with onsite working arrangements.
As the selected candidate, you will:
• Install, upgrade, and manage hardware and system software to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Implement automation tools and scripts to streamline system administration tasks and improve efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve system-related hardware and software issues, maintaining clear records of findings and resolutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures to support infrastructure planning and upgrades.
• Perform regular backup operations and contribute to the development and testing of disaster recovery strategies.
• Administer and maintain Active Directory and Azure services related to identity, access, and resource management.
• Monitor server performance, storage utilisation, and system health to ensure availability and capacity meet operational needs.
• Collaborate with the ICT team to ensure infrastructure remains secure, stable, and aligned with organisational requirements.
To be successful in this role you should have:
• Proven experience in administering and supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across networks, systems, and applications, providing timely resolution and minimising downtime.
• Knowledge of IT security principles and practices, including system hardening, access controls, backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to document processes, engage with stakeholders, and support users across various levels of technical expertise.
It is desirable if you have:
• Relevant certifications or training in Microsoft, Linux, or related fields (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA, RHCSA).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, systems software, and hardware configurations.
• Knowledge of ICT operations best practices, including security, storage, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
• Experience developing and implementing ICT strategies, operational plans, and technical roadmaps.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain Baseline security clearance.
