you’ll deliver high-quality technical and operational support for advanced communication and networking systems, focusing on RF, P25, and Demetra technologies. You’ll diagnose and resolve issues across radio, network, and server environments, ensuring reliable performance for customers in demanding field environments. Based in either Melbourne or Brisbane, this role includes periodic travel across Australia (around 8 weeks per year).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support and maintenance for P25 and related RF communication systems.
- Perform hands-on and remote troubleshooting of RF, IP networking, and server issues.
- Maintain and upgrade Windows, Linux, and network infrastructure.
- Support backend computing systems (HP and Dell).
- Manage service desk incidents and act as an escalation point for technical issues.
- Participate in an on-call roster (1 week per month) providing after-hours support.
- Work collaboratively with field and engineering teams to ensure system reliability.
- Strong RF knowledge, ideally with experience in P25 or Demetra systems.
- Solid understanding of IP networking (routing, switching, microwave, or fibre).
- Experience with Windows and Linux systems administration.
- Knowledge of virtualisation platforms (VMWare / Hyper-V) and server maintenance.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar engineering or technical support role.
- Cisco / Juniper networking certification
- CompTIA Linux+
- ITIL certification
- Microsoft Server / SQL certification
