SQL Database Administrator
We are seeking a skilled NV1 Cleared-SQL Database Administrator to join our client’s growing team.
You will be responsible for optimizing database performance, ensuring data integrity and security, and actively participating in planning and development to maintain data consistency and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.
• Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Perform regular database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to design and implement database
• solutions.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Automate routine database tasks using scripting tools (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in database design and architecture discussions
Required Skills:
• 2-3+ years as SQL Database Administrator with DB2 experience
• Strong SQL scripting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with backups, recovery, and database security
• Linux/Unix environment knowledge
• Experience with the following is a plus: AWS RDS, Azure Database, MySQL, CI/CD pipelines, and HA/replication setups
Due to the sensitive nature of this position, we require candidates to be Australian Citizen holding an Active NV1 security clearance or higher.
