In this key leadership role, you'll oversee a talented team of engineers and guide the delivery of modern, secure, and scalable applications. You’ll shape engineering practices, support architectural decisions, and ensure compliance in a high-regulation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, driving delivery excellence.
- Champion secure coding practices and ensure alignment with standards (e.g. Essential 8, OWASP).
- Lead solution design and architecture in line with best practices and government ICT standards.
- Drive adoption of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards.
- Collaborate with product teams to define priorities and delivery timelines.
- Prepare project estimates, resource plans and progress reporting.
- Manage cloud costs and resource utilisation (AWS & Azure).
- Promote and maintain workplace safety, security, and information governance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experiance in software leadership roles with a strong understanding of SDLCs.
- Proficiency in modern frameworks and languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, SQL.
- Experience working in regulated or high-compliance industries.
- Strong people leadership, communication, and risk management skills.
- Familiar with Agile delivery and various SDLC methodologies.
