A WA State Government Department is looking for an experienced Sharepoint Architect to join their transition to Sharepoint Online.
This is a 6 month contract with potential to extend, full time, hybrid position (3 days on site in William St, Perth). It is starting Jan/Feb 2026
Responsibilities:
- Design and document the SharePoint Online architecture aligned to best practice, PRIS, and cyber compliance requirements
- Translate external findings and current-state assessments into a target-state intranet architecture
- Present architecture and implementation plans to key ICT and business stakeholders
- Configure and implement the SharePoint architecture within the tenant environment
- Design and build the SharePoint intranet shell based on approved wireframes and architecture
- Develop reusable intranet page templates using primarily out-of-the-box Microsoft functionality
- Prepare and migrate intranet content from the legacy CMS into SharePoint Online
- Support User Acceptance Testing in partnership with business stakeholders
- Deliver training and ongoing support for SharePoint intranet administration and content management
- Provide go-live, hypercare, documentation, and operational SharePoint support during PRIS and cyber readiness activities
Required experience:
- Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture (sites, pages, lists, libraries, permissions)
- Knowledge of content types, metadata, taxonomy
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Ability to gather requirements and translate into SharePoint solutions
- Communication, documentation, and user support skills.
- Previous experience in a Federal, State or Local government department is highly regarded
- Australian working rights for the duration of the contract
