About the Role: Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior ZScaler Network Engineer. This is a long-term contract role (12-month initial contract) with 2 x 12-month extensions, located at our client’s Canberra office (Allara Street), with hybrid work arrangements available on an ad-hoc basis.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Analyse existing ZScaler Protected Access configurations.
- Define App Connector and Private Edge placement strategies.
- Configure ZScaler Private Access, App Segments, and monitor traffic.
- Implement ZIdentity in a multi-tenancy solution.
- Validate app segment enforcement and catch-all configurations.
- Integrate ZScaler within client's broader ICT environment.
- Contribute technical expertise across various technologies including Juniper, Cisco, Trend Micro, Fortigate, F5, ZScaler, Runzero, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.
- Assist in documentation and contribute to network/gateway project work and support.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Minimum five years of experience designing, deploying, and managing ZScaler solutions.
- Proven hands-on experience configuring complex business applications in ZScaler.
- Strong ability to articulate technical solutions in design and implementation documentation.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
It is desirable if you have:
- Broad understanding of government/industry trends and emerging tech.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and client service skills.
- Experience with the ASD Essential 8 and ICT system security accreditation.
- Familiarity with secured network operations and cryptographic solutions.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance.
