We are working in partnership with an Australian telecommunications organisation for a Senior Spark / Scala Developer opportunity.
About the role
You would be involved in:
- Design, develop, and optimize large-scale data processing applications using Apache Spark and Scala
- Designing and implementing software solutions across multiple platforms
- Producing high quality code with excellent test coverage
- Code reviews and Efficient and effective code maintenance
- Analysing product requirements and breaking down into user stories and tasks
- Estimating and planning to assist with the development of the product roadmap
To be successful for the role, you would ideally be:
- Extensive experience in Apache Spark and Scala programming languages
- Experience with data serialization formats (e.g., Parquet, Avro, JSON)
- Hands-on experience with HDFS, Hive, or Delta Lake
- Experience working with Kafka, S3, SQL/NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and version control (e.g., Git)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP (especially tools like EMR, Databricks, Glue, etc.)
