About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Release Manager (APS6 equivalent). This is a long-term contract role (12-month initial contract) with a 12-month extension option (1 extension), located at our client’s nationwide offices (ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, WA) with hybrid working arrangements.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Establish and maintain Release Management processes in collaboration with TSD, business stakeholders, and third-party suppliers.
- Manage end-to-end release cycles across business-critical applications (Salesforce, MuleSoft, EDW, SAP, APIC, etc.).
- Maintain release schedules balancing technical and business priorities.
- Drive release forums, readiness reviews, and Go/No-Go milestones.
- Produce release documentation including Deployment Plans and Run Books.
- Collaborate with State Government departments, and vendor teams for release coordination.
- Lead release planning activities in alignment with Change and Cyber Security protocols.
- Monitor and report on release statuses, issues, and risks.
- Promote continuous improvement in Release Management processes.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in enterprise Release Management.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Proven track record managing governance, dependencies, and milestones in releases.
- Strong written and verbal communication, time management, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while driving improvements across release processes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or certifications in Project Management (e.g., Diploma of Project Management or SAFe Agile).
It is desirable if you have:
- Previous experience in Release/Project Management within Federal or State Government.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
- Understanding of the Solution Delivery Lifecycle and its integration with Change and Release Management.
- Experience with risk assessments and mitigating security threats in an ICT environment.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain Baseline clearance.
