An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a high-impact data transformation initiative within a government department focused on innovation, strategy, and workforce development.
The Data Modernisation Project is a key component of a broader transformation program to replace legacy systems and transition to a new Microsoft-based ecosystem. This project will deliver a modern Enterprise Data Platform using Microsoft Fabric, enhancing analytical and reporting capabilities across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of a complex data modernisation project over a two-year timeline.
- Establish a modern enterprise data environment with simplified architecture, robust governance, and lifecycle management.
- Elevate data literacy across the organisation and implement best-practice data foundations.
- Manage cross-functional teams including ICT professionals, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure timely delivery within scope and budget, with strong reporting and risk management practices.
- Foster collaboration, promote change adoption, and ensure smooth transition to business-as-usual operations.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering large-scale data or ICT transformation projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end delivery of enterprise data platforms and data architecture.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Sound understanding of data governance, data modelling, and master data management.
- Experience aligning technology delivery with organisational strategy and change initiatives.
- Project management certification and relevant tertiary qualifications (highly desirable)
