Join a dynamic team supporting a major infrastructure migration for a leading client in the banking sector. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer for a contract role (6-12 months) based in Sydney, offering hybrid work arrangements. This is an exciting opportunity to lead critical network design and implementation tasks, collaborating with domain experts to ensure smooth application migration processes.

As the selected candidate, you will:
  • Design network constructs such as role, subnet, and service object models for both legacy (ASA) and modern (ACI) network environments.
  • Develop device translation rules for ASA/CSM and ACI/APIC, and validate these rules through rigorous testing and deployment.
  • Lead passive and canary deployment strategies, and author key documentation including runbooks and emergency rollback procedures.
  • Monitor post-deployment telemetry and authorise reverts if service level agreements (SLAs) are at risk.
  • Mentor automation engineers on APIC payloads and CSM job design to support seamless automation.
  • Support the implementation of network changes while maintaining operational stability throughout migration phases.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • Extensive experience with Cisco ASA, Cisco ACI, and APIC REST/API models.
  • Practical experience with Cisco Cloud Service Management (CSM).
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and roll out enterprise firewall policies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and capacity planning experience.
  • Knowledge of network automation frameworks is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent would be a plus.
It is desirable if you have:
  • Certification in networking disciplines (e.g., CCNP, CCIE).
  • Hands-on experience with network automation tools and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in complex network migration projects.
