We are is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a telecommunications background for a 6 month project within a leading technology organisation. Working to deliver secure, high-performance network solutions within a leading Federal Government Project. This role is ideal for someone with deep Cisco expertise, proven design skills, and the ability to manage complex, segmented environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise and service-provider network infrastructure
- Configure and manage Cisco Nexus switches and Cisco NCS540 routers
- Review and validate technical documentation, network diagrams, and configuration standards
- Troubleshoot complex routing environments with BGP and strong knowledge of ISI
- Administer F5 load balancers and Palo Alto firewalls for secure connectivity
- Monitor performance, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure compliance with security standards
- Provide Level 3 support and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance network reliability
- Australian Citizenship or Baseline Security Clearance
- CCNP certification (or equivalent experience)
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Cisco Nexus platforms and NCS540 routers
- BGP routing in segmented environments
- F5 load balancers and Palo Alto firewalls
- Ability to review and interpret detailed technical documentation
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience in defense or highly regulated sectors
- Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Python)
- Knowledge of OSPF, MPLS, or SD-WAN solutions
