About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced ERP SAP S/4HANA HR/Payroll Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of the HR/Payroll stream within a major S/4HANA transformation program for our key government client. This pivotal role will oversee the design, build, and deployment of the SAP HR/Payroll solution using SAP Activate Methodology, ensuring alignment with business needs, program objectives, and governance frameworks.
You will manage all aspects of HR/Payroll processes, functional design, data migration, and integration activities, while leading a team of internal specialists and third-party partners to deliver a high-quality, compliant, and future-ready solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the HR/Payroll stream across design, build, testing, and deployment phases.
- Oversee HR/Payroll data migration, integration, and functional design activities.
- Manage timelines, budgets, risks, and resources in line with program governance.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, tax, and financial regulations.
- Collaborate across delivery streams to align with broader ERP program milestones.
- Apply SAP Activate (or equivalent) methodologies to drive quality and traceability.
- Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams across technical and functional domains.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, reporting, and communication across business and technology groups.
You are an outcome-driven leader with extensive project management experience in large-scale SAP HR/Payroll transformations. You bring a strong customer focus, deep understanding of HR/Payroll principles, and proven ability to deliver complex programs on time and within scope.
Skills and Experience
- 15+ years of experience delivering large-scale SAP HR/Payroll ERP projects.
- Proven track record as HR/Payroll Stream Lead or Project Manager across full SDLC.
- Expertise in SAP HR/Payroll design, configuration, and data migration (SAP to SAP or legacy to SAP).
- Strong understanding of HR/Payroll operations: employee data, time & leave, superannuation, taxation, and reporting.
- Experience managing projects involving organisational change, mergers, or structural transitions.
- Demonstrated application of SAP Activate or similar delivery methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience delivering within multi-release or phased ERP deployment environments.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, HR/Payroll, Accounting, Business, or Project Management.
