About the role:

Seeking Principal Program Officer for our key State Government client. In this role, you will help build a high-performing directorate with well-defined routines, robust governance, and a dependable operating rhythm.

Responsabilities:

  • Produce high-quality executive artefacts—briefings, presentations, analyses, and reports—to support informed, timely decisions by the Director and senior leaders.
  • Maintain IGDE’s operating rhythms, ensuring meetings, planning cycles, forward calendars, and priority tracking run smoothly and provide team clarity.
  • Oversee full governance processes for the Digital Enablement Program Board, including agendas, minutes, action registers, and RAID logs for disciplined and transparent oversight.
  • Review and quality-assure workstream reporting to ensure accuracy, coherence, and alignment with strategic objectives before submission to executive and governance forums.
  • Coordinate and refine program and directorate board packs, ensuring materials reflect priorities, highlight risks and dependencies, and meet governance standards for clarity and timeliness.
  • Lead workforce activities—onboarding, induction, contractor management, and workforce planning—to ensure the directorate has the capability, capacity, and clarity needed to deliver program outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination, governance, or executive support within complex environments.
  • Highly effective communicator, skilled in producing clear, high-quality briefings, reports, presentations, and executive documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity, identify emerging issues, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead governance activities, including risk management, decision tracking, and program reporting.
  • Experienced in managing governance forums such as program boards, communities of practice, or project working groups.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 and records management platforms.
Highly Desirable:
  • Experience in digital transformation, ICT, information governance, or organisational change.
  • Experience in agile delivery environments or supporting multi-stream programs.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, project management, or equivalent experience.
  • Prosci or similar change-management certification.
  • Foundation-level project/program certifications (e.g., AgilePM) are an advantage.
