About the role:
  • The Principal OT Cyber Security Specialist will deliver expert technical guidance on cyber security across our client's Operational Technology Industrial Control Systems (OTC ICS) environment. The role is responsible for identifying, managing and resolving cyber security threats and risks, as well as implementing, monitoring and maintaining the tools, processes and controls that support ongoing cyber security improvement.
Responsabilities:
  • Provide high-level technical guidance and support to business units and technical teams to ensure security processes and controls are effectively designed and implemented.
  • Deliver ongoing, effective management, reporting and escalation of Operational Technology (OT) cyber security risks, and provide support during OT cyber security incidents.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices related to OT ICS cyber security.
  • Maintain an understanding of the roles and functions of other internal groups, contributing to the development, maintenance, awareness and enhancement of cyber security architecture within the client’s OT environment.
  • Develop and recommend cyber security strategies, policies, procedures, processes and related initiatives to strengthen cyber security across the client’s OT environment.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective engagement with staff, clients, contractors and suppliers.
  • Strong ability to perform professional duties independently, applying initiative and sound judgment in the execution of cyber security practices.
  • Advanced capability in advising, educating and promoting cyber security best practices to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing cyber security strategies, procedures, processes and systems.
  • High-level proficiency in designing, maintaining and enhancing secure OT system architectures.
  • Strong ability to assess, validate and ensure the effectiveness of security controls in mitigating threats and risks.
Mandatory:
  • Extensive knowledge of IEC 62443 and its application within control systems.
  • A degree in engineering or an equivalent industry qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in cyber security.
Highly Desirable:
  • Experience in the rail industry preferred; relevant experience in sectors such as power or transportation will also be considered.
  • Strong background in systems engineering.
  • Experience with data networking.
  • RPEQ accreditation is highly regarded.
