We are seeking an experienced Open-Source Cloud Systems Developer to join a leading utilities client. This role provides the opportunity to design and deliver innovative cloud-based solutions that will shape the future of how resources are managed, traded, and consumed.
You’ll work in a collaborative DevOps environment, leveraging your expertise in open-source databases, cloud platforms, and modern programming languages to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance cloud-based applications using open-source technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Implement cybersecurity requirements in alignment with best practices.
- Produce clear documentation, including technical standards and design specifications.
- Support and continuously improve critical business applications within a DevOps environment.
Essential Skills
- Strong proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Proven experience working with open-source databases
- AWS or Azure cloud expertise (no platform preference)
Preferred Skills
- Node.js / TypeScript
- Java Virtual Machine (JVM) platform
- Kafka and event-driven systems
- Timeseries databases (e.g., InfluxDB, ADX)
- Experience with XTDB or similar open-source DBs (advantageous)
