Our client is looking for an experienced Open Source Database Developer to join their team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimising open-source database solutions that deliver scalability, security, and performance for enterprise systems. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and analysts to create robust data solutions that support business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain open-source database solutions for enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement database architectures that align with business needs.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and configuration improvements.
- Develop and manage data migration strategies for transitioning from legacy systems to modern platforms.
- Stay updated with emerging open-source database technologies and propose innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
- Strong experience with open-source databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or MongoDB.
- Proficiency in SQL and database development, including schema design and normalization.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning and query optimization in large-scale environments.
- Familiarity with automation and integration using scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
- Knowledge of data security, backup strategies, and disaster recovery within open-source environments.
