Join a leading technology organisation as a Lead Network Engineer, working on a mission-critical, nation-wide network. You’ll be part of the production team responsible for an enterprise-level Network Management System (NMS) and IT Service Management (ITSM) solution, integrating and maintaining COTS-based Business Support Systems (BSS) and Operational Support Systems (OSS).

In this role, you’ll install, configure, troubleshoot, and enhance NMS applications, contribute to Disaster Recovery Plans, and ensure seamless service ordering, fulfillment, and assurance. You’ll work closely with vendors and engineering teams to deliver robust, secure, and high-performing systems.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer Network Management COTS solutions on Windows and Red Hat Linux in virtualised environments
  • Deploy, configure, and integrate enterprise COTS tools including ServiceNow, Splunk, Riverbed, LogicMonitor, Netbox, Infoblox
  • Implement solutions to monitor, correlate, and resolve alarms and alerts across business and technical services
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance systems, troubleshoot issues, and integrate APIs
  • Lead root cause analysis with vendors and contribute to system documentation, DRP, and backup strategies
What you’ll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science, IT Security or related, plus 9+ years relevant experience (or Master’s + 4 years)
  • 4–6 years’ Red Hat Linux Admin/Engineering and 2–4 years’ Windows Admin/Engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of ICMP, SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, gRPC, and network troubleshooting (OSI L1–L7)
  • Experience with FMS, EMS, and NPMD systems (e.g. Riverbed, Splunk, LogicMonitor, Infoblox)
  • Ability to obtain Australian Defence NV1 security clearance and travel to data centres as needed
Highly regarded:
  • Certifications in Splunk, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware, RedHat RHCSA, Windows MCSA
  • Scripting skills (Shell, PHP, Bash, Ansible, Perl/Python) and API/Web Services knowledge
  • Agile software development and systems engineering lifecycle experience
