We are a forward-thinking organisation seeking a passionate and experienced DevOps Engineer for a full-time position. This role is based in Burnley, offering a modern, flexible working environment with opportunities to work on innovative projects across cloud platforms. The position is initially a 6 Month contract, this is a great opportunity to bring your expertise to a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to improving software delivery and operational excellence.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Automate repetitive tasks to maintain a secure, up-to-date operational environment
- Collaborate closely with software and operational engineers to build and integrate modern tools, practices, and techniques
- Contribute to infrastructure security to protect data and operations from malicious or inadvertent harm
- Design and implement efficient CI/CD environments to optimise release cycles for both new and legacy platforms
- Support knowledge sharing and promote best practices across development, architecture, and security teams
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, presenting ideas to drive continuous improvement
- Proven experience using Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning, preferably for AWS environments
- Strong technical knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including but not limited to EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and Fargate
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing Kubernetes container orchestration solutions using AWS EKS
- Experience integrating Fargate with EKS for serverless container deployment
- Ability to create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for complex cloud architectures
- Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, IAM, VPC, Route53, and CloudFormation is a plus
- Advanced scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Java, or Go
- Experience working with GCP is required; knowledge of Azure is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and present technical ideas clearly
