This is a long-term contract role initially for 12 months, with 1 x 12-month extension term, located at our client’s offices across ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, and WA, with hybrid working arrangements (minimum 3 days in-office per week, subject to NDIA policy).
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Deliver high-quality solution architectures aligned with business and agency objectives.
- Architect, develop, and manage scalable, secure AWS/Azure cloud environments focusing on automation, performance optimisation, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with NDIA architecture models, principles, standards, and strategic ICT roadmap.
- Collaborate with business units and project teams to understand strategic and tactical requirements.
- Engage with enterprise architects, technical leads, and stakeholders to ensure cross-domain solution alignment.
- Assess current-state architectures for legacy systems and technical debt, recommending improvements.
- Provide technical leadership and resolve complex issues during project delivery.
- Guide enterprise architecture practices through governance activities and future-state alignment.
- Own delivery of technical documentation and architecture visualisation.
- Oversee performance assessments, patching, and planning of IT platform upgrades.
- Minimum 5 years of architecture experience, with demonstrated leadership in designing complex enterprise cloud platforms.
- Proven ability to design and implement enterprise-level multi-cloud (AWS and Azure) infrastructure aligned with business goals and standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and collaborate across business and technical teams.
- Experience motivating cross-functional teams, influencing executive stakeholders, and providing governance in matrixed environments.
- Demonstrated application of government security frameworks (e.g., ISM, PSPF), ITSM practices, and performance engineering in cloud infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to serve as a conduit between business stakeholders and ICT for solution design and requirements clarification.
- A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience in the health, insurance, or similar sectors with large customer bases in a cloud environment.
- TOGAF certification or equivalent IT architecture qualification; demonstrated Azure or AWS cloud expertise.
- Past experience in roles such as Solution, Domain, or Technical Architect; Programme Lead Architect; and experience working in both Agile/DevOps and traditional delivery models.
