Our client is seeking an experienced Hardware Co-ordinator to manage day-to-day operations across the Data Centres of a leading Australian retailer. This hands-on role is central to managing hardware adds, moves, changes, and removals, while ensuring equipment performance, process efficiency, and high-quality customer service.
You will collaborate with internal support teams, manage asset and environmental records, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to operational excellence and continuous improvement across a major retail organisation. This is a 12 month initial contract with a strong chance of extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate hardware activities including installations, de-installations, moves, changes, and removals of IT, Security, and Networking equipment.
- Monitor, analyse, and improve equipment performance, data centre environments, and procedural compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation, asset records, site diagrams, and reports while supporting problem/change identification and resolution.
- Liaise with support teams and skill groups, ensuring seamless delivery of hardware co-ordination activities.
- Provide business and non-business hours support through shared on-call arrangements.
- Recommend and implement efficiency improvements to processes, procedures, and service delivery.
- Hands-on experience in Windows and Linux server administration.
- Experience with networking hardware and cabling standards.
- Experience within data centre facilities and environmental monitoring tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Project, and Word.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and participate in on-call rotations.
- Proven track record managing hardware and infrastructure within data centre environments.
- Experience liaising across multiple teams and managing service delivery standards.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain compliance, procedural accuracy, and operational efficiency.
