As a Field Services Operations Technician, you’ll be responsible for on-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of emergency services communication systems. Your work will directly support the reliability and performance of essential services used by first responders and public safety agencies.
This role involves both planned and reactive work, across metro and regional locations. A willingness to travel, participate in an on-call roster, and work flexible hours is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure and commission radio and network communications equipment
- Perform preventive and reactive maintenance, diagnostics, and fault resolution
- Support change, incident, and problem management processes
- Provide clear technical support and guidance to clients and emergency services staff
- Maintain accurate records across asset, change, and maintenance databases
- Liaise with internal teams, sub-contractors, and external vendors as needed
- Valid drivers license (essential)
- Certificate III or IV in Electronics, Radio Communications, or Telecommunications
- ACMA Open Cabler Licence (essential)
- Experience in digital radio systems, trunked or conventional (e.g., LMR, DMR, TETRA)
- Knowledge of RF principles, antenna infrastructure, and test equipment
- Familiarity with IP networking and Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
