About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer.
This is a fixed-term or non-ongoing located at our client’s Canberra office with hybrid working arrangements (3 days in-office, 2 days remote). Whilst onboarding and training is undertaken, you may be requested to attend the office full-time.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Develop, operate and maintain network infrastructure environments to meet support standards.
- Deliver services using Cisco’s ecosystem and integrate with COTS products (Fortinet, DWDM, Umbrella).
- Uplift and maintain Essential 8 principles within the operating environment.
- Provide expert engineering guidance and leadership across technology domains.
- Monitor and manage third-party network service providers.
- Troubleshoot network issues within a software-defined network framework.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for network environments.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Proven experience in Cisco networking and infrastructure engineering.
- Strong understanding of security-first solutions and ICT best practices.
- Experience with Fortinet products and Microsoft Azure networking services.
- Ability to work independently and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Familiarity with Essential 8 principles and their implementation.
It is desirable if you have:
- Experience in hybrid cloud environments (Azure and on-premises).
- Exposure to DWDM and Umbrella technologies.
- Previous work in Federal Government or regulated environments.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance.
