This permanent role is a key part of first-line cyber defence—focused on protecting sensitive data across the business. You’ll work closely with vendors, business stakeholders, and the internal security team to implement, monitor, and mature DLP technologies, policies, and frameworks.
This role is based in Melbourne CBD, with 3 days WFH per week.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support DLP technologies including policy configuration, monitoring, and reporting
- Respond to DLP alerts and collaborate with stakeholders for resolution and escalation
- Coordinate with vendors for upgrades, issue resolution, and policy development
- Engage with internal stakeholders to deploy and refine DLP controls in line with data classification standards
- Conduct training and awareness sessions to promote DLP adoption across the business
- Assist with audits and provide evidence and reporting as needed for compliance
- Deliver insights from DLP activity to support continuous improvement and executive reporting
- Support integration of DLP with other business systems and tools
- Document root cause analyses, processes, and improvements as part of ongoing operations
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a DLP focussed or similar cyber security role
- Degree-qualified in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with DLP tools (e.g. Microsoft Information Protection, Symantec, Forcepoint)
- Strong communication skills, with ability to convey technical issues to non-technical audiences
- Proven experience working across teams to implement data security controls
- Strong knowledge of data protection principles and frameworks
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Security Admin, CISSP, CEH, or GIAC
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as CPS234, ISO 27001, NIST
- Experience using Microsoft Visio for documentation
