About the role:
We’re seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support key infrastructure and asset management projects within a large government division. This role partners with business stakeholders to improve data quality, integration, and reporting across multiple high-impact initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, structure, and analyse large datasets (1M+ records) to support operational and strategic reporting.
- Deliver short-term data projects including audit reconciliation, location register updates, and expenditure consolidation.
- Develop automated tools, dashboards, and registers (Power BI, Excel, SQL Server).
- Ensure strong data governance, security, and repeatable processes across all systems.
- Translate business requirements into actionable insights and clear reports.
- Advanced in Excel, SQL Server, Power BI, Power Query, Access, and SharePoint.
- Experience managing complex or unstructured datasets, ideally in government or infrastructure contexts.
- Strong understanding of data governance and secure environments.
- Excellent communication skills — able to explain data insights to non-technical users.
- Desirable: knowledge of Python or R for automation and data modelling.
