What the role will involve
- Provide strategic leadership across all commercial activities, driving business growth.
- Shape internal commercial strategies to support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure programmes.
- Strengthen client relationships and ensure commercial practices align with industry best standards and organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial strategies, provide expert advice to management, and oversee performance to drive improvement opportunities and growth.
- Lead complex contract negotiation, execution, and administration, proactively managing risk and ensuring compliance across projects.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape business strategy, mentor a high-performing team, and report on commercial performance and strategic initiatives.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and contribute to bids and proposals.

Essential Requirements
- 12+ years' experience in commercial management, business development, and/or contract management within infrastructure or engineering sectors.
- Proven success in securing and managing major infrastructure contracts.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at executive levels.
- Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to develop high-performing teams.
- Understanding of commercial and legal frameworks relevant to infrastructure delivery in Australia.
- High level of emotional intelligence and resilience to perform in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in a relevant discipline (Contract Management, Commerce, Law, etc.).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with commercial and contract management, particularly in service-based contracts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative team environments.
- Experience managing high volumes of change.
