About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO). This is a contract role for an initial term of 6 months, with extension options of up to 6 months. The position offers hybrid working arrangements and can be based in QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW, or SA.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Oversee and manage the IT & Data Governance Branch, including direct supervision of Executive Directors and Directors, and associated staffing and contractor budgets.
- Manage delivery of digital services, solutions, budgets, and operational responses, ensuring governance and testing arrangements for all ICT initiatives.
- Develop, review, and present clear and concise written material for a wide audience, including correspondence, briefings, guidelines, submissions, and governance papers.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with senior stakeholders, board members, and external advisors.
- Contribute to the achievement of organisational roles and functions as part of the executive team.
- Collaborate closely with shared services partners and other government agencies.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- High-level strategic approach with proven experience managing complex technology portfolios and projects.
- Demonstrated experience in data strategy leadership roles, including governance, programming, reporting, and analytics.
- Proven expertise with data technologies.
- Highly developed communication and relationship-building skills, with ability to influence senior stakeholders and boards.
- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams and coordinating multiple priorities under tight timeframes.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or minimum 5 years’ experience in senior ICT, digital government, or service delivery roles.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance (or ability to obtain)
