About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Technical AWS DevSecOps Specialist.
This is a long-term contract role initially until September 2026 with possible extensions, located at our client’s Canberra office with hybrid working arrangements available.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Proactively manage and operate deployed workloads in AWS.
- Monitor, patch, and maintain backup systems and expiring resources.
- Deploy workloads to production in line with change & release management.
- Provide 2nd/3rd tier support and participate in on-call rosters.
- Continuously improve CI/CD and monitoring tools.
- Collaborate on design, testing, and implementation of enhancements.
- Maintain operational documentation and support vendor/customer delivery.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to team culture.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Strong experience in AWS-hosted application operations.
- Knowledge of system architecture and microservice design patterns.
- Extensive PowerShell scripting experience.
- Experience with Microsoft technologies (.NET, C#, SQL Server, Windows Server).
- Proven ability to automate deployments and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in agile and ITIL frameworks.
- Ability to handle high-severity incidents in a 24/7 environment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
It is desirable if you have:
- Experience with Azure infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Confluence and Microsoft TFS.
- Mentoring and training junior staff.
- Experience in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with an existing Negative Vetting 1 clearance.
