Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Platform Technical Lead.

This is a long-term contract role with an initial contract duration of 8 months, with the possibility of a 1 x 8 Months Extension Option. The position is located at our client's offices in ACT, with offsite work arrangements considered.

As the selected candidate, you will:

* Oversee the operational support of client's Australia's Digital Earth Australia Program's (DEA) digital platforms, focusing on AWS.

* Manage adherence to Government security frameworks such as the ISM, PSPF, and E8.

* Lead the implementation of a new ML Ops environment with in-house ML experts and Data Scientists.

* Uplift Kubernetes infrastructure.

* Deliver project outcomes against DEA's Program Roadmap.

* Contribute to DEA's strategic direction and development of ICT services.

* Lead a small team of engineers and developers in an Agile environment.

* Assist with the coordination of operational requests and issues.

To be successful in this role you should have:

* Experience providing technical leadership, preferably with team management experience.

* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principals, preferably within Terraform or CloudFormation.

* Strong understanding of Cloud computing concepts.

* Strong understanding of Service Orchestration and Service Discovery, Kubernetes.

* Experience in utilizing monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail.

* Unix-based shell scripting expertise.

* Experience with Python scripting and serverless workloads, AWS Lambda.

* Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and common security practices.

It is desirable if you have:

* Experience with GitOps & DevOps using Atlassian and Microsoft/Github products.

* Experience using common scripting and mark-up languages like YAML, JSON, Markdown, PlantUML.

* Experience managing SDLC using Agile methodology and supporting tools (e.g., Jira).

* Experience with Machine Learning platform implementation and operations.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens able to obtain Baseline security clearance.
