About the role
The Senior Windows/Active Directory Engineer will be a member of the IT Operations Team and will be responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance, security, automation and enhancement of the Windows/AD/Exchange/SCCM & VMWare platforms and application stack.

*Hybrid working in Sydney or work remotely from Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, or Adelaide (must be based in Australia)

*Australian Working Rights - must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen.


Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor the Windows/AD/Exchange/SCCM & Virtualisation Environment, respond to incidents & requests promptly and resolve within SLAs.
  • Manage incident, changes, and problems through Jira.
  • Perform RCA of incidents and work towards permanent resolution.
  • Build, Deploy, Manage, Monitor and Support Windows Servers/AD/Exchange, VMWare, and associated services and applications.
  • Ensure regular platform, system, and application upgrades to maintain compliance and security obligations.
  • Proactively contribute to enhancements, innovation and automation thereby improving the business value and quality of the IT platform overall.
  • Provide technical expertise for ongoing development and management of the Infrastructure Platform and supporting services, ensuring best practices are followed and maintained.
  • Ensure technical documentation is updated and maintained to a high standard for all platforms, services and applications in confluence.
  • Adhere to incident, problem and change management processes.
  • Completion of allocated project work within agreed timeframes.
  • Enhance existing processes and practices through automation.
  • Perform application deployment releases into UAT and Production environments.
  • Manage source code, ensure version control and SDLC processes are followed.


Skills and experience

  • 7-8+ years' experience working in a similar role within Mid-Large corporate environments.
  • Proven experience designing, deploying, managing and supporting on-premises infrastructure platforms including Windows Servers/Active Directory with a security focused approach.
  • Experience with Datacentre migration planning and execution.
  • Experienced with IAM using Active Directory and preferably OKTA or similar.
  • Experience supporting and managing Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint
  • Experience with Vulnerability Management reporting & remediation using tools including SCCM, Satellite and Qualys.
  • Experience in developing and enhancing monitoring of key servers, services, and processes to ensure proactive alerting and remediation through products such as Solarwinds.
  • Experience with developing complex PowerShell scripts
  • Experience with managing DNS, NTP, SFTP, Certificate infrastructure and other core infrastructure services
  • Good understanding of core networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls.
  • Australian Working Rights - must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen.
