About the Role:
Monitor databases and system performance and suggest improvements to boost efficiency. Ensure overnight data loads and refreshes happen on time. Address and fix any issues quickly, meeting service level agreements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive documentation to guide deployment and streamline ongoing operations.
- Implement and deploy updates across all environments, including database, code, application, and configuration changes.
- Safeguard and optimize the Progress database and application environment through regular patching and enhancements.
- Oversee and manage scheduled jobs and processes daily to ensure smooth operation.
- Conduct environment data refreshes and apply data masking to protect sensitive information.
- Handle incidents, changes, and problem resolution efficiently using Jira.
- Plan, test, and execute disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
Skills and Experience:
- Over 5 years of experience in a similar role within IT service providers or mid-to-large corporate environments.
- Proven expertise in managing and optimizing Progress databases and applications in complex enterprise settings.
- Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and physical database design.
- Hands-on experience with code development, including deployment, compilation, testing, and adhering to SDLC practices.
- Proficient in 4GL programming and Linux/KSH scripting.
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia.
