Primary Purpose of the role
Perform and deliver a range of data analytics and visualisation tasks within /across Unit/Branch/Division, to support and improve service delivery.
Key areas of responsibility for this role are developing data analytics models that identify system activities and conducting cost-benefit assessments of existing and proposed operational, policy and/or program options.
The role also supports the broader Division through leading the evaluation of a range of system policies and programs.

Duration: 4 months rolling contract
Location: Sydney CBD or Parramatta
Reporting line: The role reports to the Director.
Direct reports: May be responsible for a small project team or contractors.
Essential requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics, Social Science, Actuary, Engineering, Computer Science, Econometrics, or equivalent experience
Experience in SQL/T-SQL and TABLEAU
Experience in some other programming languages such as R, PYTHON, MATLAB, or VBA would be an advantage.
Key Accountabilities
Perform a range of data cleansing, data transformation, data analysis and data visualisation tasks using analytical tools such as SQL and Tableau to support performance measurement and policy initiatives
Prepare and maintain the System Performance Dashboard and related documents for the Performance Management Group
Design and develop data visualisation products and reports according to the Unit's work plan in consultation with data owners to achieve timely and accurate data information
Routinely validate the accuracy of analysis outputs and document underlying assumptions and methodologies to enable repeatable and transparent processes for data analysis
Work with information technology experts to provide authoritative advice on infrastructure support required for analytical tools
Provide expert advice and support to policy areas on data related issues, particularly in data definitions and analytical approaches to be able to contribute to the development of business case capability and knowledge management.
