Peoplebank are recruiting for a Cyber Security Engineers to work for our client based in the Adelaide CBD on an initial 12 month engagement (extensions highly likely).
The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for securing internal programs and systems, and involves upgrading existing systems and solutions to enhance security, prevent unauthorised access, and protect data.
Note that this is a hands-on role and the successful candidate will be expected to be comfortable in designing, configuring and operating technical security capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Security Enhancement: Develop and integrate advanced security measures and protocols into existing systems to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
- System Upgrades: Implement security upgrades to existing systems to enhance their security and ensure they meet current and future requirements.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments of upgraded systems to ensure their security and functionality.
- Incident Management: Respond to security incidents related to the upgraded systems, investigate causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Internal Program Management: Oversee the internal program of work aimed at upgrading existing systems across the organization.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to understand their systems and provide security solutions that fit their needs without disrupting their operations.
- Reporting: Regularly report on the progress of the security upgrades, including any challenges and how they were addressed.
These responsibilities are designed to ensure that our internal systems are secure and capable of meeting the demands of our organization. The Security Engineer will play a crucial role in this important program of work.
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in security engineering.
- Experience configuring cloud components in Azure and O365 to align with recognised security baselines.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO, CIS, SACSF, ISM.
- Excellence in technical concepts with demonstrated commitment to expanding knowledge.
- Experience with security assessment tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate security-related concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
