Our Federal Government Client is seeking a User Interface Designer to deliver digital product design which supports the Agency's workplan, roadmap and the digital health care platforms it operates. You will be performing as a key role supporting the end-to-end design and delivery process which works closely with the team's User Experience Designers and User Researchers to take research and insights through concept, validation and into development, with Human-Centred Design methods at the heart of how the team ensures innovation and quality outcomes.
This is a long-term contract for 12 months with possible extension options, located at our Client's Canberra location.
As the selected candidate, you will be:
- Producing digital product design, interface design, interaction design which supports the design and development of Agency operated products and services across multiple platforms and devices.
- Design assets to support the end-to-end product design process, such as wireframes, prototypes for user-testing and high-fidelity design solutions for delivery to product and development teams.
- Manage and develop design principles, style-guides, design systems and component libraries across Agency products to ensure consistency, efficiency and a high-quality user experience.
- Collaborate with Design Team members, other Agency teams and stakeholders to take complex problem statements, briefs and innovation initiatives through to validated design solutions.
- Work closely with technology and product teams to deliver desired outcomes during development phases through effective communication and management. Provide assurance that the final development meets objectives, quality, standards, and design principal frameworks.
- Advocate and advise on product design best practice for external product developers relating to the implementation of Agency services within those systems in development.
- Managing and executing input from multiple stakeholders and maintaining delivery artefacts which ensure the effective delivery of design through the design process.
- Adhering to the Agency Values and Code of Conduct.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Proven experience in web or digital design using animation and visual design principles (see section below for detail).
- Knowledge of how to use, maintain and build/extend digital design systems.
- Solid understanding of human centric (UI/UX) design principles.
- Experience in using design and prototyping tools such as (but not limited to):
- Sketch
- Adobe XD and/or Axure
- The full Adobe Creative suite.
- A good understanding of AA and AAA WCAG principles and requirements.
- A sound working knowledge of html and CSS.
- Experience in working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Personal traits that include curiosity, empathy, good communication and flexibility.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian who have the ability to obtain Federal Government Security Clearances.
