We're looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our growing team in Sydney as we build out our product. This is a unique opportunity to shape an advanced technology product, comprised of both IoT hardware and software, in a domain that impacts billions of people globally: the environmental impact of construction.
A core element of our business is presenting complex datasets clearly and cleanly to provide insight to our users, you will need to have a passion and experience in presenting data in meaningful ways. You'll be able to demonstrate experience, through examples, in gathering requirements, mapping user flows, sketching concepts to gather feedback and creating high fidelity mockups that developers can work to.
You will be someone with a passion for clean design and effective creative processes. You will need to engage proactively with our growing customer base to gather and document requirements, going beyond what they say to really understand what they need. You can take complex information and present it in a way that is meaningful, simple and elegant to both client and our development teams. You will also be able to quickly iterate on practical designs that take into account analytical and engineering constraints.
As a team we're highly collaborative and enjoy working in a fluid, fast paced startup environment where requirements change frequently and the balance of speed, efficiency and scalability of your work needs to be reassessed daily. You need to be able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people and explain the justification of the decisions you're empowered to make, taking responsibility for the impact and outcome.
You'll likely be an expert in Sketch, InVision and the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. You'll have a deep knowledge of interface and graphic design principles and a demonstrated ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on complex ideas and projects.
You'll have a degree in graphic design/visual communication (or relevant background) and a solid understanding of core graphic design principles including visual hierarchy, colour theory, layouts & grids and typography.
