Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join their Risk Analytics and Reporting team. The team is responsible for providing specialist risk services, advice, commentary and reporting on loan impairment expense, provisioning and credit quality for internal and external stakeholders.

The role:

  • Breakdown and analysis of data and code within SAS, SQL models
  • Document business and functional requirements
  • Write functional specifications
  • Produce process maps, dataflow maps, and system relationship diagrams
  • Gather, organise and analyse large amounts of information from various sources
  • Identify and define business needs, problems/issues and defining and developing a feasible solution scope
  • Effectively playback findings to stakeholders, manage conflicts, issues and changes in order to ensure that stakeholders and project team members remain in agreement on solution scope
  • Identify the risks associated with the proposed solution as well as the risk for not implementing the solution
  • Assist in testing of data from various sources and changes in SAS, SQL and excel code
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal Bank policies and external regulatory requirements.

The candidate:

* Minimum 2-3 years' technical experience in
o Data analysis using SQL and Teradata
o 'Base SAS' language (datastep & Proc SQL)
o SAS Macro language
o SAS Enterprise Guide
o Microsoft Excel skills including (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, index/match etc.)
* Team player with ability to clearly analyse and articulate code
* 3 + years as a Technical and/or Business Data Analyst
* Financial Services Industry
* Experience working in business process and technology-enabled reporting projects
* Experience on projects involving financial risk data, business process reengineering, data migrations and reporting
* Very good verbal and written communication
* Experience on medium to large projects - desirable
* Experience and working knowledge of SDLC - desirable
* Knowledge and experience with Agile methodologies and tools - desirable
