About the role
As Linux Administrator you will be part of a small technology team based in the Sydney office. In this role you will be responsible for the efficient operation of the IT infrastructure environment and provide support to the Australian business users
Major Accountabilities
- Manage and maintain the hosting services (currently AWS) and maintain Linux (Debian) and Windows servers
- Maintain network infrastructure, monitor and tune performance of internal wired and wireless networks, VPN, perimeter routers and firewalls, etc.
- Data-flow management, including manage and maintain backups of all systems, storage services, and archiving for large amounts of audio, video, and text data
- Support corporate applications: email, knowledge management and collaboration apps
You will need to demonstrate:
5+ years' experience in Linux (certification highly desired)
- 3+ years hands on experience with configuring switches and routers and common network service configurations (DHCP, DNS, NIS, NFS, SMB, etc.)
- 3+ years Hands on Experience with Directory Services
- 3+ years hands on AWS experience
- Familiarity with SQL databases (pref. PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with common server applications (Apache, Tomcat, etc.)
- Familiarity with Bash and Python scripting skills
