Our client is seeking to engage a System Administrator to administer and manage Linux and Windows based environment.
The primary duties of the role include:
- Assist with deployment of any new infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve any IT service issues relating operating system and application software
- Work with vendors and partners on any hardware or software related faults
- Administer HPC batch management software
- Perform Linux administration to ensure efficient and secure operation of HPC clusters
- Assist with delivery of training to build knowledge of the HPC capabilities
- Assist with adhoc backup and restore requests
- Preparation and update documentation as required
- Follow change management processes to ensure continuous business operations
Highly Desirable Qualifications/Certifications/Skills
- Experience with batch management software (ideally PBS Pro) and supporting parallel applications
- In-depth knowledge of HPC parallel file systems and experience with mass storage systems and hierarchical storage management software using tape libraries. E.g. HPE DMF
- Experience managing HPC software environments and supporting staff
- Broad knowledge of distributed file systems and object storage, such as, SUSE Enterprise storage (Ceph), BeeGFS
- Knowledge of Window HPC Cluster management using HPC Pack
- Working knowledge of scripting and programing languages such as bash, Perl, Python, R
