About the Role
Client is seeking System Administrators, ideally with devops experience, to assist with the development of the CHIPs program. This position would enable the CHIPs project team to deliver the program by providing a reliable and performant environment for the project's activities to be run within.
The person will possess broad knowledge in:
- Linux server administration,
- Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation,
- Cloud IaaS services,
- Container technology,
- Basic TCP/IP networking concepts,
- Best practice systems architecture,
- Linux and Cloud security best practice,
- Scripting and programming languages including Python 3 & Bash.
- An ability to learn new technologies as required
The person will possess skills in:
- Maintaining the performance, security and capability of a fleet of Linux servers,
- Managing AWS cloud services,
- Managing database products (such as PostgreSQL & NoSQL),
- Managing messaging products (such as RabbitMQ),
- Supporting and automating build pipelines and infrastructure management,
- Recording SOPs and other technical writing relating to an environment being managed,
- Interfacing and supporting technical staff (such as developers) to deliver business outcomes.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated understanding in current industry methods for administering a secure and reliable ICT environment for development activities (Devops).
- Experience in administering a Linux servers for development and production environments.
- Experience in administering a cloud IAAS environment (AWS preferred).
