Our client, a large well known Australian brand within the financial services industry is looking for an experienced Senior Solutions Designer to provide expert technical and domain guidance to both business and IT. They would be responsible for each project's end to end technical solution and its delivery by ensuring the integrated design, component delivery, overall testing and implementation meet requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the solution architect in understanding current state and impacts of solution architectures for programs, projects in other domains and complex projects
- Convert requirements into architectures and solution designs that make up the blueprint for a solution for projects that do not require involvement from a solution architect
- Lead alignment of end to end design developed by different teams to meet business requirements
- Ensure alignment and provide traceability of lower level design to technical solution architecture
- Provide solution assurance on all third-party solution design to align to domain architectures and roadmaps
- Support IT estimations process and assist in delivery of detailed IT costings for solutions
- Present and provide cost / benefit / risk trade-off assessments for solution options
Skills and experience:
- Over 10 years of experience and proven results in mid-senior level functions in the IT Industry - Banking/Finance domain background required
- Strong knowledge in solution architecture, system design and contemporary IT practices
- Experience in Consumer distribution from the transformation technology side
- End to end experience with systems development, support, maintenance and systems integration
- Ability to quickly understand the functions and capabilities of new technology
- Team management and stakeholder relationship management skills
- Advanced analysis, problem solving, troubleshooting and consultative skills
- A firm understanding of a financial services operating environment, applications and products
- Experience designing solutions that are mainly application based and have used technologies such as Javascript UI with Java based REST and API services
