Our client is seeking an experienced senior software engineering to join their firm. The role is responsible enhancements, support and maintenance of the company's exchange connected software.
The role:
- Play a key role in software development, maintenance and support of the company's proprietary trading software
- Connect new exchanges, brokers or data providers to the company's platform or provide maintenance support when these partners make software changes
- Maintain the trading servers and ensure they are operating at peak efficiency
- Offer strategies for efficiency or latency improvements for software or hardware
- Work off a backlog of programming tasks
- Documentation of changes
- Occasional on call support or after-hours work - only adhoc
- Opportunities to propose new or different trading strategies
- Work with a highly experienced internal team

The candidate:
- 5 years C++ development experience at a senior level
- Financial services experience from an investment bank, brokerage or high frequency trading firm
- Demonstrated experience in trading and order management systems or exchange connectivity
- Technical strong in FIX, XML, and Multicast - must
- Skilled in Millenium (JSE stock exchange trading system), Qt, Ace, Wimndows 7 64 Bit, Software architecture, Security Authentication, and Testing. Eg, plans, results, UAT. Change control - desirable only
- May have python experience
- Self-motivated and desiring a role where you will work from a home office - all states considered however NSW is a preference
