Our client is seeking to engage Senior Software Engineer - API to join a high performing development team in Data Platform & Engineering within the Data & Enterprise Technology
The primary duties of the role include:
* Highly proficient in delivery of T&T projects delivering value using Agile and DevOps methodologies
* Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills (Thinking outside the square/box)
* Prioritize and drive Automation in delivery
* Embed a DevOps mindset and practices within the team
* Foster a safe, innovative and results driven culture
* Identify technical improvements that will benefit the business
* Provide input to or develop business systems solutions, estimates and specifications
* Participate in and support the rollout of continuous improvement initiatives
* Actively contribute to the analysis of business specifications, solutions, estimations and implementation decisions including contribution to acceptance criteria.
* Work closely with and incorporate feedback from product management, architects and data specialists.
* Ensure solutions meet requirements and deliverables as specified
* Support the creation, maintenance and reuse of Development assets e.g. libraries, test cases, plans, scripts, documentation
* Utilise agile principles and practices in everything that you do.
* Perform unit and integration testing on developed code
* Challenge the development team on their delivery of quality, unit test coverage and assistance in the creation of development artefacts.
Minimum amount of experience required to perform in the role:
- 2 years' experience working in the BI industry or specifically with Data
- Experience working in an agile development/delivery environment
- Experience with DevOps processes and Cloud services (AWS)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and building end to end technical strategies focusing on quality and fast feedback approaches, against diverse architectures
- Experience in working with and developing Continuous Integration approaches
- Experience with the implementation of DevOps into a team
- Experience with version control software
- Experience with Java development IDE's such as Eclipse or IntelliJ
- Experience in working under a SOA-based system/s
- Experience working in a distributed team
- Experience in using automated test tools
