Our client is a leading government, wealth management organization.

About the role:

This is a 12-month contract with a hybrid working arrangement. The office is located in Melbourne CBD.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and functions across the Agency such as Executive Support Team, Legal & Risk, Finance etc. as well as individual business units
  • Provide strategic and responsive advice to senior management and other stakeholders as required
  • nsure procurement activities are managed in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and FFMA policies and procedures
  • Identify risk and escalate appropriately, ensuring that risk is managed through familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Perform contract administration, review, extensions/renewals, and resolution of contract-related issues
  • Maintain and update the contracts register, ensuring key information and renewal/expiry/action dates are accurately captured and provide sufficient lead time to manage contracts in a timely manner and to optimise outcomes for the Agency
  • Monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations and performance metrics
  • Bring a high level of expertise in all aspects of tendering, compliance and strategic procurement management to the role including a strong understanding of the legal and ethical framework that governs purchasing, procurement, tendering, and contracting
  • Procurement of goods and services through Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) panels and other relevant procurement methods

Skills and experience:

  • Trained in procurement approaches or methodology
  • Have a solid understanding of financial services organisations
  • Demonstrated experience of procurement, contract management and vendor management - for complex and high value matters
  • Working closely with key business partner functions (e.g. Legal, Finance) across an organisation
  • Demonstrated understanding of project governance and performance management, preferably in a customer and/or supplier environment
